Paws & Co. is seeking a skilled Pet Groomer to join our vibrant team in Durban. The successful candidate will be responsible for grooming pets, ensuring their comfort and safety during the grooming process. We’re looking for someone with a genuine love for animals and a flair for grooming techniques to make our furry clients look fabulous.

Responsibilities

• Groom a variety of dog and cat breeds according to breed standards.
• Assess the health and behavior of pets before grooming.
• Educate pet owners on grooming and maintenance best practices.
• Keep the grooming area clean and organized.
• Assist with administrative tasks related to grooming services.
• Manage inventory of grooming supplies and products.
• Promote grooming packages and additional services to clients.

Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Diploma in Animal Care or Grooming is preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in professional grooming

Technical Skills

• Grooming Equipment Handling

Soft Skills

• Problem Solving

Certifications

• Grooming Certification from a recognized institution

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic

Advantageous

• Experience in handling special needs pets: Familiarity with grooming practices for pets with special requirements.
• Knowledge of pet nutrition and health: Understanding of how nutrition impacts pet grooming and care.
