Job Description

As a Forest and Conservation Technician, you will play a crucial role in managing and conserving forests and natural areas. You'll work alongside forestry professionals, conducting assessments and implementing practices to promote sustainable forestry while educating communities about environmental issues. This position requires strong teamwork and a commitment to environmental stewardship.

Responsibilities

• Conduct environmental assessments and surveys of forested areas.
• Assist in implementing conservation initiatives and community outreach programs.
• Manage records of forestry activities to track project progress.
• Collaborate with local communities on sustainable forestry practices.
• Participate in training sessions related to forestry techniques and safety.
• Explore new technologies and methods for effective resource management.
• Provide administrative support for forestry management projects.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related field

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in conservation or forestry

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of environmental regulations
• Experience with GIS software

Certifications

• Sustainable Forestry Practices Certification

Languages

• Zulu: Conversational
• English: Fluent
