Platform Engineer

Job Description

Join our innovative team in Cape Town as a Platform Engineer. We are looking for someone passionate about DevOps and cloud technologies. Your role will involve designing, implementing, and managing our cloud infrastructure using tools like Terraform and Kubernetes, optimizing performance and security for our platforms.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform.
• Configure and manage container orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• Ensure robust disaster recovery and backup procedures are in place.
• Work with cross-functional teams to support application deployment.
• Identify and address performance bottlenecks in the cloud infrastructure.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
• Assist in the onboarding and training of new engineering team members.
• Evaluate new tools and technologies to enhance automation.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Master's degree is an advantage

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in cloud engineering or DevOps roles
