Job Description

We are on the hunt for an Environmental Scientist to join our team in Port Elizabeth. The successful candidate will analyze environmental data and develop strategies to mitigate environmental impacts for various projects.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough ecological assessments and produce comprehensive reports.
• Collaborate with engineers and planners to enhance project sustainability.
• Monitor the success of environmental management plans.
• Facilitate training on environmental best practices for team members.
• Manage project budgets related to environmental initiatives.
• Assess and report on the effectiveness of mitigation measures.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, or similar
• Master's degree is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years in environmental research or consultancy

• Environmental Legislation
• Sustainability Practices

• Problem Solving

Certifications

• ISO 14001 Lead Auditor

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Xhosa: Intermediate

Advantageous

• Experience with Environmental Modelling Software: Hands-on experience with software used for environmental modelling and simulations.
• Familiarity with Climate Change Policies: Understanding of local and international climate change policies.
