Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Public Health Officer to join our team in East London. This role involves conducting health research, assessing community health needs, and implementing programs aimed at disease prevention and health promotion. Responsibilities

• Design and implement surveys to collect health data from various demographics.
• Coordinate with other sectors to address social determinants of health.
• Provide technical support for public health projects.

• Serve as a liaison between the community and health department.
• Promote healthy lifestyle choices through various media.
• Conduct workshops on health topics relevant to the community.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences or related field
• Master's degree in Public Health preferred

Experience

• 4+ years of experience in health promotion or public health initiatives

• Statistical Software (SPSS, R)

• Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES)

• English: Fluent
• Xhosa: Conversational
