Job Description

As a Bookkeeper at Apex Financial Services, you will play a crucial role in supporting our accounting department. Responsibilities include managing payroll, maintaining financial logs, and preparing monthly financial reports. You will work closely with our finance team to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial regulations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and general ledger accounts.
• Process accounts payable and receivable.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
• Assist with payroll preparation and processing.
• Compile financial reports in compliance with regulations.
• Provide support during audits.
• Analyze financial data and provide insights to the management.
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve discrepancies.
• Oversee the filing and documentation of financial records.
• Stay updated on financial regulations and best practices.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

Experience

• 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience

Technical Skills

• QuickBooks
• MS Excel
• Sage

Soft Skills

• Attention to Detail
• Communication

Certifications

• Certified Bookkeeper (CB)
• SACOB Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with Xero: Familiarity with Xero accounting software is advantageous.
• Understanding of South African tax regulations: Knowledge of local tax regulations is a plus.
