Data Science Manager

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a Data Science Manager to lead our data science initiatives in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in data analysis, machine learning, and team leadership, and will play a pivotal role in driving data-driven decision-making processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the data science pipeline from data collection to model deployment.
• Engage with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into analytical solutions.
• Conduct performance evaluations of models and improve them based on feedback.
• Facilitate workshops to demonstrate the value of data-driven insights to non-technical teams.
• Ensure best practices for data governance and ethical analytics.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, or related field
• PhD preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in data science or analytics roles, with at least 2 years in a management position
