We're on the lookout for a talented Data Engineer in Cape Town who will be responsible for designing and implementing data solutions. You will focus on optimizing our data processing infrastructure, ensuring scalability, and working on data acquisition strategies. Your expertise in data management and analytics tools will be crucial in shaping our data capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain cloud-based data storage solutions.
• Transform and clean raw data into useful formats.
• Work closely with the data science team to optimize algorithms and workflows.
• Analyze and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks in data processes.
• Train and mentor junior data engineers and interns.
• Create data visualizations and reports to communicate insights.
• Implement security measures for data handling and storage.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in data integration and engineering

• ETL Tools
• NoSQL Databases

Certifications

• Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)

Languages
