Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Insurance Underwriter to join our dynamic team in Durban. In this role, you will assess risks and determine the eligibility for insurance coverage, ensuring compliance with our underwriting guidelines and standards. You will work closely with agents and clients, providing expert advice and support throughout the application process.

Responsibilities

• Analyze insurance applications and determine terms of coverage.
• Conduct thorough investigations into risks associated with clients.
• Develop underwriting guidelines and revised procedures to enhance efficiency.
• Collaborate with other departments to streamline the insurance process.
• Provide ongoing support to agents regarding policy underwriting.
• Monitor portfolio performance and suggest improvements.
• Prepare and present underwriting reports to management.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and retention.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
• Certification in underwriting preferred

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience as an underwriter

Certifications

• AIC (Associate in Insurance)
• CPCU Certified
