Job Description
We are looking for a motivated Garbage Collection Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of our waste collection team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient garbage collection service delivery while promoting safety and compliance with all regulations.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead daily garbage collection operations and ensure proper scheduling.
  • Ensure that all safety guidelines are strictly followed during collection.
  • Address and resolve issues that arise during collection shifts.
  • Monitor productivity and report on collection metrics to management.
  • Foster a positive team culture and promote teamwork.
  • Review and maintain collection vehicle maintenance records.
  • Develop and implement operational improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant waste management legislation.
  • Provide feedback and training to collectors on best practices.
  • Coordinate with local authorities for effective waste management strategies.
  • Conduct performance reviews and support staff development.
Job Requirements
  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • National Diploma in Waste Management or related field preferred
  • Waste Management Practices In-depth knowledge of waste management regulations and practices.
  • Fleet Management Experience in managing and maintaining waste collection vehicles.
  • Leadership Strong leadership skills to guide and motivate teams.
  • Communication Excellent communication skills for interaction with team and clients.
  • Problem-solving Ability to troubleshoot issues effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • English (Fluent)
  • Afrikaans (Fluent)

  • Customer Service Experience: Experience in addressing customer concerns and enhancing service delivery.
  • Knowledge in Environmental Compliance: Understanding of environmental policies affecting waste management.
