Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to join our dedicated team in Durban. You will assess risks and determine policy terms for a range of insurance products. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a background in insurance underwriting, and a commitment to providing top-notch service to our clients.

Responsibilities

• Analyze data to assess risk factors and determine coverage options.
• Negotiate terms and conditions of insurance policies with stakeholders.
• Provide feedback on product development based on market analysis.
• Generate regular reports on underwriting performance metrics.
• Collaborate with claims department to evaluate and resolve issues.
• Implement new technology and processes to improve efficiency.
• Attend industry conferences and networking events to build relationships.
• Support sales teams by providing expertise on underwriting queries.
• Participate in audits and compliance checks as necessary.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, or related field
• Advanced qualification in underwriting or risk management preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in insurance underwriting is preferred
