Job Description

Looking for a detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to evaluate insurance applications in our Durban office. You will analyze risk factors and make underwriting decisions that align with our company’s objectives while ensuring exceptional service for our clients.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and make decisions on insurance applications based on detailed risk assessments.
• Communicate with clients and agents to facilitate the application process.
• Evaluate client financials and external data to make informed underwriting decisions.
• Develop and implement underwriting guidelines for product offerings.
• Prepare detailed underwriting reports for management review.
• Conduct regular policy reviews and collaborate on any necessary adjustments.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and regulations to inform underwriting practices.
• Strive for efficiency in the underwriting process to enhance client experience.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Risk Management, or equivalent
• Relevant certifications or licenses in insurance underwriting are advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years of underwriting experience preferred
