Medical Examiner

Job Description

As a Medical Examiner, you will perform post-mortem examinations to ascertain causes of death, prepare detailed forensic reports, and collaborate with law enforcement agencies to provide expert testimony. This role demands meticulous attention to detail and a strong commitment to ethical standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the forensic examination process and ensure accuracy in findings.
• Testify in court as an expert witness when required.
• Conduct training and mentoring of junior staff in forensic procedures.
• Liaise with legal professionals and law enforcement agencies.
• Maintain rigorous adherence to ethical and privacy standards in all investigations.

Requirements

Education

• MBChB or equivalent medical degree
• Postgraduate qualification in forensic pathology is advantageous

Experience

• At least 3 years of forensic pathology experience preferred

• Forensic Pathologist Certification
• Valid Code 8 Driver's License
