DevOps Engineer

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our vibrant Johannesburg team. This role is critical in facilitating the integration of development and operations through automation and cloud technologies. The ideal candidate will have a profound understanding of cloud environments and CI/CD processes, coupled with a passion for problem-solving and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure using AWS or Azure.
• Automate routine tasks and improve operational workflows.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for operational support.
• Implement performance monitoring tools and develop custom dashboards.
• Enhance existing CI/CD processes and propose improvements.
• Support development teams in application deployments.
• Conduct post-mortems on production incidents and implement lessons learned.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in software development and DevOps practices

Technical Skills

• CloudFormation
• Python/Bash Scripting

Soft Skills

• Communication
• Critical Thinking

Certifications

• Google Professional DevOps Engineer

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with serverless architecture: Experience working with serverless technologies like AWS Lambda.
• Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) experience: Hands-on experience with CI/CD practices to streamline application delivery.
