Job Description

A Violin Mechanic is responsible for repairing, restoring, and maintaining violins, ensuring they are in optimal condition. The ideal candidate will work meticulously to address any issues with the instruments, enhancing their performance and sound quality.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate the condition of violins and determine necessary repairs.
  • Work with various materials for repairs and wood finishes.
  • Ensure the preservation of historical instruments when restoring.
  • Manage customer enquiries and communicate services offered.
  • Document repairs and maintenance performed on each instrument.
  • Advise on improvements and modifications to enhance sound quality.
  • Engage in continuous learning by attending workshops and training.
  • Utilize precision instruments and tools for repairs.
  • Create a customer-friendly environment in the workshop.
  • Conduct quality checks on completed repairs before returning instruments.

Requirements

Education
  • Diploma in Music or related field
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in musical instrument repair, specifically violins.
