Responsibilities

  • Dispense medications accurately and efficiently.
  • Provide consultation to patients regarding drug therapies and health management.
  • Manage inventory and ensure the availability of medications.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
  • Educate patients on medication safety and potential side effects.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and confidentiality.
  • Monitor patient medication therapy for adherence and effectiveness.
  • Conduct health screenings and immunizations as required.
  • Assist in the training of pharmacy interns and pharmacy technicians.
  • Stay updated with the latest research and advancements in pharmacy.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or related field
Experience
  • 2+ years of pharmacy experience preferred
Technical Skills
  • Pharmacology Knowledge
  • Communication Skills
Certifications
  • Registered Pharmacist with the South African Pharmacy Council
Languages
  • English: Fluent
  • Afrikaans: Conversational

Advantageous

  • Experience with Health Promotion Programs: Familiarity with community health outreach initiatives.
  • Bilingual in English and Afrikaans: Ability to communicate in both languages is advantageous.
