Job Description

The Resident Chaplain will provide spiritual and emotional support to residents within a healthcare or educational setting. The role involves offering guidance, conducting religious services, and ensuring the overall well-being of individuals in their care.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate spiritual assessments and care planning for residents.
  • Support individuals through emotional crises and provide coping strategies.
  • Engage with local communities to promote the organization's mission.
  • Create a welcoming environment within the facility for all faiths.
  • Advise on ethical dilemmas to support staff in decision-making.
  • Conduct group or individual sessions focusing on spiritual growth.
  • Liaise with external religious organizations for additional support.
  • Ensure familiarity with religious texts and traditions relevant to residents.
  • Develop community outreach initiatives for spiritual wellness.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Divinity or Theology
  • Ordination or certification from a recognized religious organization
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in providing spiritual care in healthcare or educational settings.
