Health Initiatives SA is seeking a proactive Public Health Officer to enhance community health initiatives in Cape Town. Your work will involve outreach, data analysis, and partnership development with local organizations to foster better health outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Implement community health initiatives based on local needs.
• Conduct workshops and seminars to promote health literacy.
• Engage with local authorities to advocate for community health resources.
• Gather and analyze health data to assess community health trends.
• Lead initiatives to promote mental health and wellness in the community.
• Develop educational materials for distribution to the public.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Public Health or a closely related field
• Master's degree in Public Health is advantageous

Experience

• 3-5 years of related experience in public health initiatives

Technical Skills

• Survey Design
• Health Policy Analysis

Soft Skills

• Interpersonal Skills
• Team Leadership

Certifications

• Registered Environmental Health Practitioner (REHP)
• Health Education Specialist Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• isiXhosa: Conversational
