Structural Engineer

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a passionate Structural Engineer to join our team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will design, analyze, and oversee the construction of structures such as buildings and bridges. You will play a key role in ensuring that projects are completed safely and efficiently, utilizing modern techniques and materials.

Responsibilities

• Draft and review engineering specifications and calculations.
• Liaise with clients to determine project requirements.
• Conduct risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential issues during construction.
• Create detailed design documents for project implementation.
• Participate in bid evaluations and project meetings.
• Support junior engineers and students through mentorship.
• Ensure implementation of safety standards throughout the project lifecycle.
• Research and implement sustainable materials and techniques.
• Lead the structural analysis phase of projects to ensure compliance with codes.
• Prepare technical documentation and present to stakeholders.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Professional registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in structural engineering
