Job Description

We are seeking an Insurance Underwriter to join our Johannesburg team. The ideal candidate will have a knack for assessing risk and analyzing data to determine policy terms and premiums. You will collaborate with agents and clients to provide tailored insurance solutions.

Responsibilities

• Analyze underwriting submissions to ensure consistent and effective risk assessment.
• Liaise with external parties, including actuaries and consultants, for detailed evaluations.
• Assist in training and mentoring new underwriting staff.
• Identify opportunities to improve underwriting processes and efficiencies.
• Review policy documents for accuracy before issuance.
• Participate in client meetings to discuss policy terms and risks.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Business, or relevant field
• Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years in underwriting or related insurance position
