Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Engineer to join our team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental protection, management systems, and regulatory compliance. This role involves designing and implementing sustainable solutions to mitigate environmental impacts, conducting assessments, and ensuring adherence to environmental laws.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate environmental policies and recommend improvements.
• Coordinate environmental projects from inception to completion.
• Monitor compliance with environmental laws and regulations.
• Engage with community groups on environmental issues.
• Ensure effective communication of environmental initiatives.
• Implement carbon footprint reduction programs.
• Assist in the development of sustainability reporting.
• Research and advise on renewable energy initiatives.
• Prepare grant and funding applications for environmental research.
• Manage team projects to achieve environmental targets.
• Develop risk assessment strategies for environmental hazards.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or a related engineering field
• Master's degree is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in environmental consulting or engineering
