Job Description

As a Public Health Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the design and implementation of health initiatives aimed at improving the health and well-being of residents in Port Elizabeth. You will evaluate current public health programs and provide recommendations for improvement based on data analysis and community feedback.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate existing public health programs and recommend improvements.
  • Design community-specific interventions based on identified needs.
  • Liaise with healthcare providers and social services to coordinate efforts.
  • Train and support staff in health education methodologies.
  • Conduct community surveys and focus groups to gather health-related input.
  • Collaborate with researchers as necessary to support public health projects.
  • Engage in public speaking opportunities to raise awareness of health initiatives.
  • Prepare funding proposals for public health projects.
  • Maintain compliance with local and national public health regulations.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health or relevant field
  • Master's degree is highly advantageous
