Health and Safety Officer

Job Description

Join our Cape Town team as a Health and Safety Officer. Your role will focus on maintaining and improving our safety systems, conducting risk assessments, and fostering a culture of safety within the workplace. You will ensure adherence to legislative requirements and support our commitment to employee health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Establish and promote health and safety guidelines across all levels of the organization.
• Conduct regular health and safety audits and inspections.
• Engage with employees to gather feedback on safety practices and concerns.
• Develop safety training materials and conduct training sessions.
• Monitor compliance with health and safety regulations and standards.
• Implement corrective actions to address identified safety issues.
• Liaise with external safety organizations and authorities.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and safety trends.
• Assist in accident investigations and reporting.
• Create and maintain a safety manual for the company.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
• NEBOSH Certification is preferred.

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in health and safety management within the engineering sector.
