We are looking for an experienced Animal Husbandry Specialist to promote the well-being of our livestock in Port Elizabeth. Your expertise will ensure that we maintain high standards of animal health and productivity through effective management and care.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement animal husbandry practices to improve livestock health and productivity.
• Conduct regular health assessments and maintain records of animal care.
• Ensure compliance with animal welfare legislation and health regulations.
• Collaborate with veterinary services and implement vaccination programs.
• Training farm staff on best animal care practices and handling techniques.
• Monitor feed and nutrition programs for various animal species.
• Identify and manage health issues in livestock, providing recommendations for treatment.
• Participate in breeding programs and assist in reproductive management.
• Evaluate and recommend improvements in facilities and equipment for animal care.
• Conduct educational workshops on sustainable farming practices.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Agriculture, or related field
• Master's degree is preferred

Experience

• 2+ years of experience in animal husbandry or a similar role
