Join our dynamic team in Durban as a Tax Specialist. You will be responsible for providing taxation advice, preparing returns, and ensuring our clients meet their tax obligations efficiently. Your strong problem-solving skills and in-depth knowledge of tax regulations will be key to success in this role.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze tax returns for accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare comprehensive tax strategies tailored to client needs.
• Assist with dispute resolution in case of audits or inquiries from tax authorities.
• Develop relationships with clients and identify opportunities for additional services.
• Monitor tax liabilities and advise clients on the impact of changes in tax legislation.
• Create tax reports detailing findings and strategies implemented.
• Provide input to optimize tax planning and remittance processes.
• Oversee the preparation of end-of-year tax reconciliations.
• Coordinate with external auditors for tax-related audits.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax software and industry best practices.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Taxation or related field
• Postgraduate qualifications in Taxation would be advantageous

Experience

• Minimum of 4 years in tax advisory and compliance roles

Technical Skills

• Regulatory knowledge
• Tax Software proficiency

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving
• Teamwork

Certifications

• Professional Tax Degree (PTD)
• Chartered Accountant (CA) is a plus

Languages

• English: Fluent

• Leadership experience: Experience in leading and mentoring junior tax staff.
