Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Surgical Sterile Processing Technician to ensure that all surgical instruments and equipment are adequately sterilised and ready for use in operating rooms. The ideal candidate will work closely with surgical teams, upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and safety.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough cleaning and sterilisation of surgical instruments and equipment.
• Assemble instruments and ensure they are ready for usage during procedures.
• Keep accurate logs of all sterilisation cycles performed.
• Assist in supervising new staff on sterilisation protocols and processes.
• Inspect instruments for defects and ensure they function correctly.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the sterilisation area.
• Rotate and update inventory of supplies and equipment regularly.
• Participate in quality assurance assessments.
• Contribute to safety initiatives and staff training.

Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited Sterile Processing Technician training program

Experience

• 2+ years of experience within a sterile processing unit

Technical Skills

• Medical Equipment Knowledge
