Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Underwriter to join our team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating insurance applications, analyzing risk factors, and determining appropriate coverage limits and premiums. You will play a critical role in ensuring that our policies are both competitive and profitable.

Responsibilities

• Analyze client data to establish risk profiles and determine necessary coverage.
• Communicate with clients to gather additional information as required.
• Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in training junior underwriters and contribute to team efforts.
• Conduct market research to assess competition and improve underwriting practices.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related field
• Professional underwriting designation is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in insurance underwriting

Certifications

• Certified Insurance Underwriter (CIU)
