Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Pipe Layer to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will be responsible for laying and maintaining pipelines, ensuring the efficient flow of water and other liquids. This role requires hands-on experience in the construction field and the ability to interpret blueprints. You should be familiar with various installation methods and standards to meet project specifications.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints to determine pipe layout and materials needed.
• Install and join pipes, ensuring proper alignment and sealing joints effectively.
• Perform tests on pipes and underground systems to identify leaks or blockages.
• Conduct routine maintenance on installed pipes to ensure functionality.
• Collaborate with Site Manager and other team members to complete projects efficiently.
• Adhere to relevant safety standards and protocols while on site.
• Operate relevant heavy machinery and tools for pipe laying tasks.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations during installation.
• Document project progress and report any issues to the Site Manager.
• Assist in trenching and excavation as needed for pipeline installation.

Requirements

Education

• National Senior Certificate or equivalent
• Trade Certificate in Pipe Laying or a related field

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in pipe laying or related construction work

Technical Skills

• Heavy Equipment Operation
• Blueprint Interpretation
• Pipe Installation Techniques

Soft Skills

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with municipal water and sewer systems: Knowledge of working with local government standards for piping.
