Logistics Coordinator

Job Description

We are seeking a proactive Logistics Coordinator to join our team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the end-to-end logistics process, ensuring timely and cost-effective transportation of goods. You will be the key point of contact for our suppliers and customers, coordinating all logistics activities while maintaining our high standards of service.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all logistics activities are executed according to planned schedules.
• Liaise with clients to ensure satisfaction with the logistics services provided.
• Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders involved in the logistics chain.
• Assist in the development of logistics strategies to improve service delivery.
• Monitor performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.
• Participate in logistics-related projects and initiatives as required.
• Assist in preparing budgets related to logistics operations.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration is advantageous
• Specialized training in logistics or supply chain is desirable

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in a logistics coordinator position

• Transport Management Systems (TMS)

Certifications

• Global Logistics and Supply Chain Management Certificate
• Six Sigma Green Belt Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic

Advantageous

• Proficiency in MS Excel and data visualization tools: Strong abilities in using Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Knowledge of lean logistics methodologies: Experience in implementing lean principles to reduce waste in logistics operations.
