Job Description

The Conservation Scientist will play a vital role in overseeing the conservation and preservation of natural resources in South Africa. The successful candidate will engage with various stakeholders, ensuring best practices in habitat management and wildlife protection.

Responsibilities

• Lead wildlife conservation projects, ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Coordinate with stakeholders for effective resource management.
• Create educational material for workshops and community events.
• Compile reports on conservation activities and outcomes.
• Conduct ecological assessments and research studies.
• Provide technical advice on habitat restoration projects.
• Facilitate training for volunteers and community members in conservation practices.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of current conservation strategies and suggest improvements.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Conservation Biology or Ecology
• Relevant certifications in field conservation practices are a plus

Experience

• Experience working with local communities and stakeholders in conservation efforts.
