Distribution Supervisor

Job Description

We are seeking a proactive Distribution Supervisor to lead our warehouse operations in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will ensure the smooth flow of goods, manage a dynamic team, and maintain high standards of safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily functions of the distribution team, ensuring optimized workflow.
• Coordinate the logistics of receiving and shipping goods with external partners.
• Monitor inventory levels and forecast future needs based on demand.
• Conduct staff performance evaluations and implement training as necessary.
• Ensure that all safety protocols are followed, reducing risks and ensuring a secure environment.
• Prepare regular reports detailing operational performance, including cost metrics and delivery times.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including suppliers and customers.
• Participate in budget planning and cost control measures in the distribution department.

Requirements

Education

• Diploma in Logistics or Supply Chain Management

Experience

• 3+ years in logistics or warehouse operations management

Technical Skills

• Inventory Management Software
• Forklift Operations

Soft Skills

• Communication
• Time Management

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with ERP systems: Experience using Enterprise Resource Planning systems to manage logistics.
• Certifications in Six Sigma: Six Sigma certification is preferred for quality management.
