Veterinary Surgeon

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Veterinary Surgeon to join our enthusiastic team in Pietermaritzburg. As a Veterinary Surgeon, you will provide high-quality medical care to a variety of animals, perform surgeries, and consult with pet owners regarding treatments and preventative care. This role requires a compassionate disposition, excellent surgical skills, and a commitment to animal welfare.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular health check-ups and consultations for animals.
• Perform surgical procedures as required.
• Diagnose illnesses and determine the appropriate treatment plans.
• Administer vaccinations and preventative medications.
• Educate pet owners about animal care and wellness.
• Maintain accurate medical records for all patients.
• Collaborate with the veterinary team to ensure optimal patient care.
• Provide emergency care to injured animals.

Requirements

Education

• BVSc (Bachelor of Veterinary Science) or equivalent
• Postgraduate qualifications are advantageous

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in veterinary practice

• Registered Veterinarian with the South African Veterinary Council
