Job Description

Join our team as a Safety Officer, where your focus will be on maintaining high standards of health and safety. You will conduct assessments, develop safety policies, and foster a culture of safety within the workplace. Your role will be integral to ensuring the safety of staff, visitors, and the general public.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety training sessions for staff.
• Conduct site inspections to identify safety issues.
• Update and maintain safety manuals and protocols.
• Coordinate safety drills and emergency response exercises.
• Advise on safety equipment and protective gear.
• Liaise with government safety agencies.
• Manage safety-related complaints and concerns from employees.
• Analyze safety trends and recommend improvements.
• Ensure all safety documentation is current and compliant.
• Support management in achieving safety goals.

Requirements

Education

• Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or related field

Experience

• 2+ years of experience in a safety role, preferably in public safety or law enforcement

Certifications

• NEBOSH Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Basic
