Structural Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Structural Engineer to join our Cape Town office. The successful candidate will be involved in designing and managing various structural engineering projects, ensuring they meet safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Design concrete, steel, and timber structures.
• Utilize BIM technology to produce 3D models for design accuracy.
• Analyze existing structures for potential upgrades and reinforcement.
• Stay current on industry trends, codes, and regulations.
• Prepare reports and present findings to stakeholders.
• Assist in the development of project proposals and bids.
• Foster relationships with clients through effective communication.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering
• Master's degree in Structural Engineering or related field is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in the field

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Construction Methods

Soft Skills

• Team Leadership
• Time Management

Certifications

• ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Certification
• Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification (optional)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Conversational
