Civil Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a knowledgeable Civil Engineer to join our Pretoria team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of civil engineering principles and a passion for delivering high-quality infrastructure projects. You will be involved in various stages of project development, from planning to execution.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, and drainage systems.
• Collaborate with environmental engineers to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
• Conduct risk analysis and develop mitigation strategies.
• Prepare and maintain project budgets and schedules.
• Evaluate project outcomes and implement improvements.
• Participate in contract negotiations and vendor selection.
• Report project status to stakeholders and maintain project records.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
• Master's degree in Civil Engineering is advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in infrastructure projects

Technical Skills

• AutoCAD
• Project Management Software

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Negotiation

Certifications

• Engineer in Training (EIT) or equivalent

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Conversational

Advantageous

• Familiarity with sustainable engineering practices: Experience in green building design and environmental impact assessments.
• Experience with BIM software: Knowledge of Building Information Modeling processes.
