Job Description

We are looking for a passionate Clinical Psychologist to join our team in Cape Town. In this role, you will provide essential psychological services to patients, conduct assessments, and develop personalized therapeutic plans. Responsibilities

  • Conduct and analyze psychological tests and assessments.
  • Provide one-on-one therapy and support groups.
  • Create individualized treatment plans and monitor patient progress.
  • Engage in teamwork with medical professionals to deliver comprehensive care.
  • Perform crisis intervention and assess risk factors for patients.
  • Participate in community mental health education and workshops.
  • Document patient interactions and treatment outcomes accurately.
  • Research and apply new therapeutic methodologies.
  • Support and mentor junior staff and interns within the practice.
  • Promote a positive and healthy workplace atmosphere.

Requirements

Education
  • Doctorate in Psychology (PsyD or PhD) preferred
  • Registered Clinical Psychologist with the HPCSA
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in a clinical setting
Technical Skills
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
  • Trauma-Informed Care
Soft Skills
  • Critical Thinking
  • Interpersonal Skills
Certifications
  • Certified in various therapeutic modalities (e.g., EMDR, Play Therapy)
Languages
  • English: Fluent
  • Xhosa: Conversational

  • Familiarity with telehealth platforms: Experience providing remote therapy services.
