Job Description

The Insurance Appraiser will play a critical role in assessing the value of insured items, including vehicles and personal property. Candidates should have a keen eye for detail and strong analytical skills to ensure accurate evaluations and recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct property inspections to determine valuation for insurance claims.
• Review claims documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Provide support and guidance to clients throughout the claims process.
• Prepare comprehensive appraisal reports.
• Collaborate with Sales and Underwriting teams to ensure sufficient coverage.
• Conduct market analysis to remain informed of industry standards.
• Manage workload effectively to meet deadlines.
• Participate in ongoing training and development sessions.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in insurance appraisals

Technical Skills

• Database Management
• GIS Mapping Tools

Soft Skills

• Interpersonal Skills
• Organizational Skills

Advantageous

• Experience with commercial insurance appraisals: Experience in assessing the value of commercial assets.
• Fluency in additional local South African languages: Ability to communicate in more than one local language is a plus.
