Responsibilities

• Review insurance applications and assess risk factors associated with the potential clients.
• Collaborate with other departments to streamline the underwriting process.
• Develop and implement underwriting guidelines that meet the company’s standards.
• Proactively monitor market conditions and adjust underwriting criteria accordingly.
• Communicate with clients regarding underwriting decisions and policy recommendations.
• Document all underwriting decisions and maintain updated records.
• Work with reinsurance companies to manage risk effectively.
• Participate in industry forums and training sessions to stay updated on trends.
• Provide insights and feedback for policy development and modification.
• Engage in continuous improvement initiatives within the underwriting team.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management or related field
• Postgraduate degree is advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in insurance underwriting

• Underwriting Software Proficiency

Certifications

• Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA)
