The successful candidate will analyse and assess risks in insurance applications, ensuring that appropriate policies are issued. Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough research and analysis on applicant risks.
• Assess the financial stability of clients to determine insurability.
• Provide training and mentorship to junior underwriting staff.
• Negotiate terms and conditions with clients and brokers.
• Create and maintain reports on underwriting activities.
• Engage in continuous professional development in underwriting practices.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
• Master's degree in Risk Management is a plus

Experience

• 5 years of underwriting experience preferred

Certifications

• FIA (Fellow of the Insurance Institute of South Africa)
