Pharmacist

Job Description

Join our dynamic pharmacy team in Durban as a Pharmacist. You will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications, counselling patients on their prescriptions, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patient medication histories for contraindications.
• Provide clinical support to healthcare professionals.
• Ensure ethical practices in the pharmacy.
• Engage with patients to understand their healthcare needs.
• Design and implement quality improvement initiatives.
• Document patient care activities in accordance with standards.
• Advise on non-prescription medications and alternative therapies.
• Assist in the preparation of reports on pharmacovigilance.
• Participate in community health fairs and outreach.
• Support the pharmacy manager in administrative tasks.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy
• Additional certifications in Clinical Pharmacy preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in retail or hospital pharmacy

Certifications

• Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council
• Certification in Pharmacotherapy

• English: Fluent
