Job Description

We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have experience in data analysis, machine learning, and statistical modeling. You will work collaboratively with teams to extract insights from datasets and drive decision-making processes.

Responsibilities

• Create dashboards to provide real-time insights.
• Engage with stakeholders to understand their data needs.
• Utilize SQL and Python for data manipulation and analysis.
• Build predictive models to guide business strategy.
• Conduct A/B testing and interpret results to optimize processes.
• Collaborate with IT on data infrastructure improvements.
• Document workflows and methodologies for future reference.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science or similar
• Master's degree is an advantage

Experience

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in data analytics or data science

Technical Skills

• Python
• R or SAS
• Tableau or PowerBI

Soft Skills

• Creative Problem-solving
• Interpersonal Skills

Certifications

• AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty
• Google Professional Data Engineer

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in Natural Language Processing (NLP): Ability to work with text data and generate insights using NLP techniques.
• Data Engineering skills: Experience in data warehousing and ETL processes.
