Job Description

We are excited to welcome an Insurance Underwriter to our Cape Town team. In this role, you will assess clients' insurance applications, analyze risk factors, and collaborate with various teams to ensure optimal client service. Your insights will directly influence policy structures and pricing strategies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of insurance applications.
• Utilize analytical tools to assess risks associated with applicants.
• Liaise with various departments to align underwriting practices with business goals.
• Monitor existing policies for any changes in risk levels.
• Ensure all underwriting documentation is accurately completed.
• Advise clients on risk management and insurance options.
• Implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with the IT team on underwriting systems and tools.
• Train new team members on underwriting procedures and best practices.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Insurance or related field
• Further certification in risk management is an advantage

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in the insurance industry

Technical Skills

• Underwriting Software Proficiency

Certifications

• Fellow of the Life Management Institute (FLMI)
• Associate in Insurance Services (AIS)

Languages

• English: Fluent
