Public Health Officer

Job Description

In this role, you will assess local health needs, develop initiatives to promote healthy behaviours, and report on health metrics. The Public Health Officer contributes to creating a healthier community through evidence-based strategies and initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Analyze health data to inform program development.
• Foster partnerships with NGOs and other organizations.
• Conduct health screenings and provide referrals to services.
• Educate families about preventative health measures.
• Plan and execute community vaccination drives.
• Prepare educational content for social media and the website.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Public Health or related field
• Master's degree preferred

Experience

• 2+ years of experience in public health or community health employment

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Conversational
