We are actively seeking an experienced Insurance Underwriter to join our team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating insurance applications, assessing risks, and determining coverage amounts. In this role, you will play a critical part in our underwriting process, ensuring that our clients receive the best possible service and protection.

Responsibilities

• Review applications for insurance coverage and ensure compliance with policies.
• Develop pricing strategies based on risk assessment.
• Collaborate with the sales team to develop tailored insurance products.
• Participate in risk evaluation meetings and team discussions.
• Implement best practices in underwriting to improve efficiency.
• Utilize underwriting software and tools for accurate analysis.
• Provide guidance and training to junior underwriters.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
• Postgraduate qualifications in Risk Management an advantage

Experience

• 5+ years of progressive experience in the insurance underwriting sector

Certifications

• Fellow of the Life Management Institute (FLMI)
• Associate in Commercial Underwriting (ACU)
