Job Description

As a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with speech and language challenges. You will collaborate closely with speech pathologists to implement therapy plans that enhance communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare materials and resources needed for therapy sessions.
  • Assist in the assessment of students' speech and language needs.
  • Support the integration of therapy plans into classroom activities.
  • Provide guidance to students on using communication devices.
  • Document and report any observations of student behaviour during sessions.

Requirements

Education
  • Associate degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field
Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role.
Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of Therapy Techniques
  • Familiarity with Communication Aids
Soft Skills
  • Interpersonal Skills
  • Motivational Skills
Certifications
  • Registered in South Africa as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant
Languages
  • English: Fluent

  • Experience in Educational Settings: Previous experience working within a school setting is preferred.
