Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Pharmacist to join our team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering excellent pharmaceutical care, advising patients on medication use, and ensuring the safe dispensing of pharmaceuticals. You will play a key role in patient education and safety, working closely with healthcare professionals to enhance patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently.
• Offer pharmaceutical advice and support to patients.
• Conduct health screenings and wellness checks.
• Consult with physicians regarding patient medication therapy.
• Provide training and support to junior pharmacy staff.
• Participate in pharmacy outreach programs to promote health.
• Conduct quality assurance checks on dispensed medications.
• Utilize effective communication skills when interacting with patients.
• Stay informed on the latest pharmaceutical research and trends.
• Ensure the pharmacy environment is clean and well-organized.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy (BPharm)
• Advanced training in Pharmaceutical care is advantageous

Experience

• 2-4 years of experience in community pharmacy

Technical Skills

• Pharmacokinetics

Certifications

• Certified Pharmacist (CP)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Conversational

Advantageous

• Experience with OTC medications: Knowledge of over-the-counter medications and their proper use.
