Job Description

We are seeking a Structural Engineer to join our dynamic team in Durban. You will be responsible for the development and implementation of designs that comply with regulatory frameworks while focusing on sustainability and functionality.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design projects from conception to completion.
• Conduct risk assessments on structural designs.
• Update and maintain project documentation.
• Participate in client meetings to discuss project specifications.
• Work closely with contractors to resolve on-site issues.
• Implement sustainability practices in engineering solutions.
• Generate cost estimates and project timelines.
• Stay informed of industry trends and advancements in structural engineering.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
• Master's degree in Structural Engineering is advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in a structural engineering role

• STAAD Pro

Certifications

• Civil Engineering Technician Certification
• Green Building Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of seismic design principles: Understanding of how to design structures to withstand seismic loads.
• Experience with BIM technology: Familiarity with Building Information Modeling for project development.
