Job Description

We are looking for a talented Structural Engineer to join our growing team in Johannesburg. In this role, you will manage and oversee various construction projects, ensuring all structural designs comply with safety regulations and industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of structural engineering principles and be comfortable collaborating with contractors and architects.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed drawings and specifications for structural projects.
• Assess material and construction methods for suitability.
• Coordinate with environmental engineers to ensure sustainable practices.
• Provide guidance on structural modification requirements.
• Review contractor submissions for compliance with engineering standards.
• Attend site meetings and provide expertise on structural matters.
• Supervise junior engineers and interns as needed.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or similar field
• Master's degree may be an advantage

Experience

• 5+ years of structural design experience

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis
• Microsoft Office Suite

Certifications

• Chartered Engineer (CEng)
• LEED Accredited Professional

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic
