UI Designer

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a talented UI Designer to join our creative team in Stellenbosch. In this role, you will design intuitive and engaging interfaces for web and mobile applications. You will collaborate closely with UX designers, product managers, and developers to create designs that not only look great but also provide an outstanding user experience. The ideal candidate should be proficient in design tools like Sketch, Adobe XD, or Figma, and have a keen eye for aesthetics and detail.

Responsibilities

• Produce user-centric design solutions for various digital platforms.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including UX and development.
• Create engaging visual designs while considering usability and accessibility.
• Develop and maintain design specifications and documentation.
• Refine and iterate on designs based on stakeholder feedback.
• Present design concepts to key stakeholders and gather actionable feedback.
• Mentor junior designers and share knowledge of best practices.
• Test designs with real users and iterate based on their interactions.
• Attend design critiques and participate in constructive discussions.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Design or a Computer Science-related field
• Relevant certifications in UI/UX design are a plus

Experience

• 3+ years in UI/UX design with a strong portfolio

Technical Skills

• Figma
• HTML/CSS

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with accessibility design standards: Familiarity with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
• Familiarity with Agile design processes: Experience in Agile environments with iterative design methodologies.
