Public Health Officer

Job Description

We're seeking a passionate Public Health Officer to engage with the community in Cape Town. You will play a key role in implementing health programs, assessing community needs, and promoting public health initiatives to improve overall health outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Research and implement best practices in public health programming.
• Educate the community about preventive health measures.
• Represent the organization at community meetings and health fairs.
• Foster partnerships with stakeholders to advance public health goals.
• Conduct workshops to promote wellness and preventative health.
• Implement health screenings and immunization programs.
• Manage project budgets and ensure resource allocation for health programs.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Social Science, or related field
• Master's degree in Public Health is a strong advantage

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in community health programming

Technical Skills

• Statistical Analysis Software (SAS)
• Health Promotion

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Cultural Competence

Certifications

• Certified in Public Health (CPH)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Conversational
